What to do in Fuerteventura 🌴 Secret Spots & Hidden Gems

Fuerteventura has 150 kilometres of coastline, extinct volcanoes, skies free of light pollution and landscapes that haven’t changed in centuries. And most of it is completely free.

This is not a hotel guide or a tour directory. It’s a list of places locals know and tourists rarely find. No rankings. No sponsorships. Just the real island.

There is plenty to do in Fuerteventura — and almost all of it is free.

  • Dunas de Corralejo Fuerteventura — arena blanca Parque Natural
Dunas from Sahara : Fuerteventura has two dune areas, in the north and in the south. This is the big one. Ten kilometres of white sand moved by the wind every day. A desert right next to the Atlantic.
  • Bufadero del Bristol Fuerteventura — costa volcánica La Oliva

Bufadero del Bristol: The Atlantic forces its way through a crack in the volcanic rock and explodes upward. Only locals know it. No signs.

  • Playa secreta Fuerteventura — cala virgen costa sur
Playa Secreta: No name. No signs. No people. There are very few places like this left.
  • Moonrise Fuerteventura costa oeste — luna llena Atlántico
Moonrise: The moon rising over the Atlantic. From the west coast, in silence, almost alone. A free show every month.
  • Cueva del Tesoro Fuerteventura norte — historia indiano naufragio
Cueva del Tesoro: A man dug this cave in the north of the island searching for the treasure of a sunken ship. He never found it.
  • Playa de Cofete Fuerteventura — playa salvaje Jandía sur isla
Cofete: Twelve kilometres of wild coastline with no paved access. The Atlantic here is darker and more serious. Worth every pothole.
  • Costa norte Fuerteventura — acantilado volcánico palmeras
Costa Norte: Volcanic coast, palm trees, turquoise water. The north hides corners that most people simply drive past.
